The Warren Held Exams: The NHCA has been creating them since 1967 to recognize student achievement in mythology and all levels of Latin.  It is a 45 minute exam held in May. The cost is $5 per school (total), and there is no limit to the number of students who can take the exam.

Warren H Held, Jr. was a professor of classics and chairman of the Department of Spanish and Classics at the University of New Hampshire for 19 years until his untimely death in 1986. A graduate of Princeton and Yale, his specialty was the study of the Hittites and their language. The NHCA renamed these exams in honor of his strong mark upon the Classics in New Hampshire.
